You should support KCI because, in a community full of amazing Rabbis and shuls, we are still finding a way to change the Jewish scene.  Once the most flourishing synagogue in the neighborhood, membership and attendance at KCI has dwindled over the years, leaving behind only a handful of dedicated and devoted members who are trying with all their might to keep this shul--the shul where they grew up, and raised children, and ran charitable programs--alive.  And we are committed to actualizing, as well as strengthening that dream.  Over the past few months, KCI has evolved from a quiet, mostly unused building, into a shul that is vibrant with Torah study, Tefilla (prayer), and full of children's laughter.  New families have joined and membership has risen.  With renewed enthusiasm, we are setting out to make a difference in the world.  When the terrible earthquakes shook Haiti, we organized a communal Friday night dinner to raise awareness and funds; when we realized that the building was not equipped to recycle, we immediately got recycling bins as part of our larger effort to sustain our environment; when people in our community are ill or in need of consolation, we are there to comfort them.  We are a shul committed to Torah u'maasim tovim, good deeds, and we plan to leave our mark!  Your contributions will be invaluable in the revival of a legacy, and continued efforts on our part to enrich the lives of those around us, the Jewish community, and the world at large.
